Davd has been a teacher for more than three decades. He has also worked at a teacher union, the SAOU for two years in which he dealt with conflict situations extensively as well as labour matters.

He obtained his LLB degree from Nelson Mandela University and completed Law school in 2020. In 2021 He enrolled for the 40 hour Civil mediation training at the Law Society of South Africa.
